Our Story
PFLAG Flat Rock-Hendersonville has been serving LGBTQ+ people, their families, and allies in Henderson County for more than 25 years. What began as a small group of parents and supporters has grown into a vibrant community dedicated to creating a more welcoming and inclusive place for everyone.
Building Community
Supporting Local Students
For decades, our chapter has provided a safe and supportive space where people can connect, share experiences, ask questions, and find understanding. Through monthly meetings, educational programs, social gatherings, and community partnerships, we have helped countless individuals and families feel less alone.
One of our proudest accomplishments is the PFLAG James Faucett Memorial Scholarship. Thanks to the generosity of local donors, businesses, and community members, we have awarded thousands of dollars in scholarships to LGBTQ+ students and allies from Henderson County as they pursue higher education.
Advocacy and Education
Looking Ahead
Our work extends beyond support meetings. We participate in community events, share educational resources, and advocate for dignity, respect, and equal opportunities for LGBTQ+ people. We believe that creating positive change starts with conversations, understanding, and showing up for one another.
Today, PFLAG Flat Rock-Hendersonville continues to be a place of connection, hope, and belonging. Whether you are LGBTQ+, a family member, a friend, or an ally, you are part of our community, and there is a place for you here.
